So I made a cute sandbox for the kiddo's and they love it! And wouldn't you know it, I failed to take any pics of the process! But I'm building 2 sandboxes for their daycare and I'm taking pics of my project!!! I'll make sure to post some good ones when I'm finished. I hope to be done this weekend!
I did 99% of the work on my own...which I am extremely proud of! The 1% of work was having the assistance of my dad to help with holding a heavy piece in place so I could drill/screw/attach it to the main structure.
The sandbox build is the first piece of furniture (can we call it furniture?! I don't know what else to refer to it as) that I've built from scratch! I'm a firm believer in doing things from scratch! I guess now that I've built these boxes and they look great I feel like buying a pre-cut/some assembly required furniture kit is the equivalent to buying a box cake mix. Sometimes you just need something quick that you can throw together, but for the most part, doing it from scratch will always make you feel like you put that much extra love into it! Anyway, enough of the mini soap box! I found this AMAZING site for FREE building plans. A found it too and she LOVES it just as much as I do. This is where I found the plans for the sandboxes and also where I found plans to build my next project...bunkbeds for the boys!!! Can't wait!! The site is www.ana-white.com.
